BISHKEK, March 11 (Xinhua) — The Chinese campaign to eliminate absolute poverty is remarkably effective and efficient, Executive Secretary of the Kyrgyzstan-China Friendship Association Aibolot Aidosov told Xinhua on Wednesday.

“In general, we can say that China has overcome the poverty standard set by international organizations,” he said, adding that he expected to see “more dynamic growth of China” as the COVID-19 pandemic is expected to be less severe than last year.

“Today, China is able to withstand any shocks and challenges,” the expert said, adding that the entire world has witnessed this potential of China during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, the expert noted that since the novel coronavirus broke out last year, China has reacted to the pandemic promptly and demonstrated an effective model of state governance, with its experience shared with other countries.

The expert emphasized that having experienced all the hardships of the virus early on, China understood well what other countries were facing and could not stand aside with its economic potential and resources.

He said that China’s initiatives to help other countries were warmly welcomed.

The expert also welcomed China’s contribution to improving the global governance, adding that China’s ideas for boosting international cooperation, harmonious peace, and the opportunity for each state to be successful and choose its own path of development are very relevant.
