On March 18, 2024, a delegation from Hunan Association for Science and Technology visited the NEXT Federation to enhance technological exchange and cooperation between China and New Zealand, exploring future collaborative opportunities to further promote innovation in both regions. The delegation comprised representatives from relevant government departments, enterprises, and institutions in Hunan Province, led by Mr. Wang Guishu, Party Secretary and Executive Vice President of Hunan Association for Science and Technology.
On the Chinese side, speeches were delivered by Mr. Chen Zifeng, Director of Science Popularization Department of Hunan Association for Science and Technology; Ms. Guo Rui, Vice President of Changsha Association for Science and Technology; Ms. Zhang Yan, Vice President, Chief Physician, and Professor of Changsha Association for Science and Technology; Mr. Lan Weizhong, Deputy Director of AIER Institute of Optometry and Secretary-General of Hunan Provincial Society of Optometry; and Ms. Xiao Xi, General Manager of Hunan Zonelink Information & Technology Co., Ltd.
Prof. Aiguo Patrick Hu, Chairman of Chinese Scientists Association of New Zealand and Professor at the University of Auckland’s Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, delivered concluding remarks, welcoming the delegation’s visit and affirming the substantive exchanges during the meeting. He also outlined the future direction of Sino-New Zealand technological exchange and cooperation.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Jun Chen, Secretary General of NEXT Federation.
